"One activity I have participated in is “Students Today Aren’t Ready for Sex” program.  This will be my third year on  STARS. Each spring three of my classmates and myself are introduced to a group of 6^th graders.  During the presentations we stress the importance of staying abstinent from sex and sexual activities. We also provide different ways to show affection, other than the overrated sexual myths. Thus helping to make the abstinent plan more effective.  These young teens look up to myself and others as role models. They feel more confident in their actions because of the time we donate. Throughout this event I have learned new things also.  I am now able to give speeches more effectively, and feel good about the differences I make in each teen’s life."
