THE FRENCH TOAST EXPERIMENT

INGREDIENTS BACON
  • red pepper flakes
  • brown sugar

CUSTARD

  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • bacon bits
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • dash salt
  • 1tsp sweet chilli sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp brown sugar

TEXAS TOAST bread

CUSTARD
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup jam of choice
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon

 

 

THIN bread

CUSTARD
  • 1tbs cinnamon
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • bread

THIN sandwich bread

BACON
  • brown sugar
  • red pepper flakes to taste

CUSTARD

  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp bbq rub
  • 1/2 tsp coarse ground black pepper
  • cheese

TEXAS TOAST bread

PREPARATION BACON
  • place bacon on cookie sheet
  • sprinkle red pepper flakes on bacon
  • lighty cover bacon with dark brown sugar
  • bake at 375 for 15 minutes or until bacon is done

TOAST

  • coat bread with custard
  • grill on medium high heat until golden
  • add cheese to toast at end lightly cover to melt cheese

ASSEMBLY

  • add bacon to cheese side of bread
  • place cheesy bacon sides together
  • cut into wedges
  • serve with dipping sauce

 

ASSEMBLY/PROCESS
  • Add peanut butter to one slice of bread
  • Then add jam to the other
  • Cover in the custard
  • place on the grill till golden brown

 

TOAST
  • coat bread with custard
  • grill on medium high heat until golden

 

serve with syrup or peanut butter

 

BACON
  • place bacon on cookie sheet
  • lighty cover bacon with dark brown sugar and pepper flakes
  • bake at 375 for 15 minutes or until bacon is done

TOAST

  • coat bread with custard
  • grill on medium high heat until golden

 

ASSEMBLY
  • add cheese to bread while still hot
  • add bacon after cheese is melted
  • put another piece of toast on top

Adding cinnamon to the peanut butter enhanced flavor of the overall taste. Adding chili powder sounds weird but it enhances the cinnamon even more. If you eat it with peanut butter it brings out the cinnamon taste out. But if you eat it with syrup its just chewy texture. best if used as a lunch item or side for a dinner entree
