Arlington High School Library

Our mission is to help students develop skills that will help them be successful in the future so that they can have their fingertips on quick information that will help them succeed in the 21st century. The ability to access and apply information may be the most important skill Oregon's students will need as they prepare for the workplace.

Good Schools Have School Librarians who...

  • Promote reading

  • Help students find information in books, magazines, newspapers, and on the Internet.

  • Find students good books to read.

  • Show students how to use technology tools.

  • Teach students to use information search strategies.

  • Help classroom teachers.

  • Collaborate with teachers.

  • Connect teachers with resources on the Internet, in print, multimedia and community resources.

"Whatever the cost of our school libraries, the price is cheap compared to that of an ignorant nation."  Walter Cronkite
