GILLIAM COUNTY BICYCLE SAFETY RODEO Children, age K - 8th grade, are invited to participate in the Gilliam County Bicycle Safety Rodeo. There will be staff on hand to check bicycles for fit and safety, helmets available for our kiddos who don't have them, and even a chance to win prizes including a new bike! There will be courses set up to promote safe riding and decision making while on our roadways and public areas. Permission slips are required and are sent out from school.

Read Across America Day, also known as Dr Seuss Day, is a yearly observance in the USA inaugurated by the NEA (National Education Association). It is held on the school day that is nearest to March 2nd, Dr Seuss birthday. Theodor Seuss Geisel was an American artist, book publisher, animator, poet, a political cartoonist as well as an author. He is best known for authoring over 60 children’s books. ASD will be having dress up days this week (MARCH 4-7) to celebrate. Keep Calm and READ TO and WITH your kids.

The Arlington/Ione Girls Basketball Team will be playing the South Wasco County Redsides in a first round district playoff game this Friday, February 16, in Arlington @ 6:00 pm. If the girls win on Friday, they will play either Trout Lake or Wheeler County for the District Championship on Saturday, February 17, at The Dalles High School at 6:00 pm. If the girls lose on Friday night, they will still play on Saturday at The Dalles High School at 2:00 pm in the 3rd place game vs Trout Lake or Wheeler County. There will be gate fees for all district playoff games, $ 8.00 for adults and $ 5.00 for students. Come and cheer on your Arlington/Ione girls team this Friday and Saturday.
